The new technologies allow to realize mantles of vegetation by drastically compressing the thicknesses and the weight on the roof covering,
ensuring the survival of the mantle of vegetation, eliminating the maintenance and the duration of irrigation.
Nowadays we can make green roofs weighing about 120 kg/mq with water-saturated thicknesses having a minimum thickness of 15 cm,
cutting maintenance down to 3 hours a year per 100 SM (after the first year since installment).
Thanks to the evaporation and transpiring process of the vegetation and to its shadow projected on the soil.
In July the green roof maintains the surface temperature slightly lower than the air temperature, so as to obtain energy savings of 35% in the summer months. The specific heat and the insulating power of the framework forming the RIVERGREEN roof,
also contribute to sensibly increase the thermal inertia and the insulation of the roof with more energetic advantages both in the summer and in winter.
The RIVERGREEN covering ensures a good deadening power, caused by the mass of the layers forming the green roof and partly
by the biomass which prevents the reflection of sound-waves.
Moreover, the biologic mass on the roof turns the carbon dioxide into oxygen, so contributing to the improvement of the microclimate and the environment.
