BUILDING
OF A PAVILION
The
new pavilion of the exhibition of Bologna is an integral
part of the detailed plan that dimension the exhibition
district either for a bigger visitors flow or for a
greater number of scheduled exhibitions The project is
characterized of a rectangular plan of 180x76 metres and
its development is a typical two floors section for an
useful area of 23700 square metres. The project is by
Benevolo's Architect Office and structure project is by
Prof. Massimo Majowiecki. The covering structure is
supported by a reinforced concrete bearing columns. The
bearing and prestressed reticulated beams are coupled
with a 7 metres distance; A secondary longitudinal warp
of renforced purlines is supported by these beams. The
supporting beams set, made of teflon stainless steel,
allows the thermal epansion in the beam direction. |

THE
COVERING SYSTEM
The
sandwich system is composed by: below corrugated plate,
vapour barrier, purlines, thermic insulation, exthernal
roof covering in prepainted aluminium Riverclack 55, in
addition to skylights and shapes for ventilation and
smoke evacuation
|
|
|
 |
|
|
Our
Riverclack 55 system was selected for this big project
for its important performances and fidelity assurance.
Riverclack
55 is a metal covering system for flat roofs, but for this
project is used olso for its adaptability with the 300 metres
ray depressed arch bearing structure.
Moreover,
the 0,8 mm thickness aluminium sheets createa low weight on
the structure.
The
sheets were producted in a single element long as required
from the structural arch development, without crossed joints.
|
 |
 |
|
|
The
73 metres sheets were produced directly at the site of
erection, for a clear transport problem.
The
anchors of the roof without through perforation and the
draining joints guarantee a total waterproof, even if the roof
is completely flooded.
The
reinforced sliding and anti-friction polyamide braket permits
a free movement of the sheets following the alterations of the
below structure. The system gurantees unalterable walkability,
resistance to wind suction, and durability equal to the used
metal.
