RIVERCLACK FOR THE LARGEST CONFERENCE CENTER IN NORTH AFRICA

April 2017

Opened with a ceremony in October 2016, the CICA (International Conference Center of Algiers), located in the exclusive Club de Pins area of Algiers, is North Africa’s new venue for conferences, exhibitions, meetings and special events: a stunning environment in one of the most beautiful settings of the world.

This 270,000sqm facility is the largest multi-purpose venue of its kind in North Africa and the most technically advanced, purpose-built convention center in the MENA region, providing with exhibition halls, world-class shopping, a variety of bar and restaurants, 30 kitchens, on-site TV studios, horse stables, parking facilities and an auditorium for 6,000 guests. With 9,300sqm of indoor space and 2,400sqm of multi-purpose outdoor space, the center is able to host international conferences, exhibitions, meetings and special events of any size. Designed by Italian architects Fabris & Partners and build in record timing by Chinese contractor CSCEC, the center was a dream of Algerian President, M. Abdelaziz Bouteflika.

CICA waving roof has been covered with 52,000sqm of Riverclack® 550 aluminum panels, pre-painted bronze PVDF 3L, rolled and formed on-site. The brown-pinkish color of the roof evoke the characteristic red soil of the surrounding area. The three layers of PVDF finishing protect the paint from the aggressions of the salty environment.
